- Quick and easy recipe: Simply mix the five ingredients together in a small bowl and you’ve got a delicious dip all ready to go in under five minutes!
- Healthy: Made with Greek yogurt, this creamy yogurt fruit dip recipe is a great source of protein and calcium. The splash of orange juice adds a dose of vitamin C and helps to naturally sweeten up the dip so less added sugar is required. It’s such a great nutritious way to spruce up that fruit!
- Make ahead: This yogurt fruit dip keeps well in the fridge, so you can make up a big batch and serve it for your next party or easy snacking throughout the week. It’s a great snack to pack in those lunch boxes too!
Ingredient Notes
- Yogurt: Greek yogurt forms the base of this fruit dip. I typically use 0% M.F. plain Greek yogurt, but you can use a higher fat variety or full fat yogurt if you prefer a thicker consistency. Vanilla yogurt would work great too; just be sure to decrease the amount of honey added if it’s already sweetened.
- Orange: We use both the zest and juice of the orange for a nice tangy flavour. Use freshly squeezed orange juice for best results rather than store-bought orange juice. Add more zest if you prefer even more zesty flavour!
- Vanilla extract: To sweeten and flavour the dip. Add more to taste if desired.
- Honey: We use honey to sweeten the dip. Pure maple syrup can also be used if preferred.

You can store this dip in the fridge in a covered bowl or airtight container for up to one week. Be sure to give it a good stir before serving.
Recipe FAQs
It’s best not to freeze this dip if you can avoid it. When it thaws, the texture can change and become grainy or very watery, though it will still taste good. If you do choose to freeze it, it will keep for up to 2 months. Thaw it in the fridge and stir well before serving.
Regular yogurt would work, however it wouldn’t be as creamy. For best results, use Greek yogurt as the base.
You can dip pretty much any fruit into this yogurt dip! Cut fresh fruits into bite sized pieces and go at it! Apples, mango, pineapple, strawberries, melon, clementines, pears and grapes all work great.
Greek yogurt has a slight tang to it so a little sweetener can help make it more tasty and kid (and adult) friendly. I like to use a sweetener like honey or maple syrup to sweeten it up, however, if you’d like to minimize added sugar, you can also use a natural sweetener such as stevia. For a thicker dip, you can use a little powdered sugar if preferred.
Serving Suggestions
This fruit yogurt dip is obviously great to serve along with any type of fruit. Serve it with a large platter of fruit or with cute little individual fruit cups.
You can also add nuts, dried fruit, graham crackers, cheeses or chocolate for a larger, more elaborate board.
Additionally, you can use this tasty fruit dip as a topping on pancakes or waffles for a sweet treat. Or, it makes a fun addition to any lunch box or after school snack served along with some fruit skewers!
Recipe Variations
- Switch up the flavour: Use lime zest or lemon zest and juice instead of orange.
- Add some cinnamon: Add a dash of cinnamon to the yogurt mixture. It tastes especially good with apple slices!
- For chocolate flavour: Add a bit of cocoa powder to the mix.
- Make it dairy-free: Use a plant-based yogurt such as almond, coconut or soy yogurt instead of Greek yogurt.
- To make it vegan: Use a plant-based yogurt and maple syrup.
- For extra sweetness: Add a little extra honey or use vanilla Greek yogurt instead of plain.
- Try a different sweetener: Use maple syrup, coconut sugar, or monk fruit sweetener instead of honey.
- Add a garnish: A sprig of fresh mint adds a nice touch as well.
