Magical winter wonderland table decor — tablescape inspiration for holiday decorating and entertaining this Christmas season.
Winter Wonderland Table Decor
I can hardly believe that Christmas is only a couple of weeks away. Where has this year gone?!
Actually, where have the last two years gone? It was exactly two years ago this weekend that we were preparing for our Winter Wonderland-themed wedding. Getting all of the last minute decorations ready and putting together the final touches to prepare for the big day.
Although at first, I wasn’t 100 percent sold on having a wedding in December, now I’m incredibly grateful that we did. It was so magical with the light dusting of snow on the ground.
PLUS, I get to reuse all of my wedding decorations at Christmas time every year!
Seeing all of the beautiful decorations brings back so many amazing memories of the special day.
So if you’re considering having a wedding around Christmastime, I highly recommend it.
For our wedding, our theme colours were ivory, silver and blush — pretty much my favourite colour combination of all times. When I thought about having a winter wedding, I wanted it to be magical, sparkly, and a bit rustic since those characteristics aligned well with our venue.
So of course, I purchased decorations that fit that theme.
We recently moved into our new house several months ago and the thing that I was most excited about in the new house was the large open concept kitchen and dining room — perfect for entertaining. In our old house, we didn’t have a large dining room table, so I wasn’t able to do much in the way of decorating.
But now? I’m in decorating heaven.
To celebrate the joy of the season (and my love for decorating), I decided to put my winter wonderland-themed wedding decorations to good use and spruce up the table for Christmas this year.
For our wedding, I had purchased two silver manzanita trees with hanging tear drop crystals and it turns out that they are now one of my favourite Christmas decorations in our house.
I love how they glam up the dining room table.
And on a sunny day, those crystals catch the sunlight and sparkle like crazy.
It’s absolutely gorgeous.
I also got a custom floral cake topper made with the intention of being able to use it after our wedding as a wintery centrepiece.
When I was getting out all of the Christmas decorations this year, I immediately thought of the floral cake topper. I went on a little mission to find it in my wedding keepsake box and sure enough, it worked perfectly placed on top of a mercury glass vase. You’d never guess it was once used as a cake topper.
It makes a gorgeous centrepiece!
I also spotted some ivory bottle brush vintage Christmas trees when I went shopping one day and it was love at first sight. They caught my eye right away!
Next, I filled in the gaps in the centre of the table with fake snow (polyfil works perfectly for this!) and spruced it up with sparkly pinecones that I made a few years back (you can check out that DIY project here) in addition to some blush ornaments and sparkly balls that I had kicking around.
For each place setting, I used silver woven chargers as a base topped with white dishes. I had some ivory napkins and bling napkin rings that we had received as wedding gifts, which tied into the theme perfectly.
I also had all of these silver sparkly snowflake decorations that I had purchased at the dollar store, so I placed them on top of each napkin.
Very budget-friendly decor, I might add, if you’re looking to glam up the table on a budget.
I used the same silver sparkly pinecones that were in the centre of the table as a place card holder at each seat. They held the little snowflake name tags perfectly!
On the buffet, I used sparkly candle holders and silver lanterns, along with a ‘Joy to the World’ printable sign (you can take a closer look at the printable HERE or download it for free HERE).
The view from the dining area into the living room was really cozy too, especially with that warm sunlight coming through the windows.
It’s amazing what a few simple decorating touches can do to add a magical feeling to the house!
I hope this winter wonderland tablescape provides a little inspiration for your holiday decorating and entertaining!
Merry Christmas!
