Looking for some ideas to host a tropical-themed party? Here you can find some inspiration for some DIY decor and healthier appetizer ideas to serve at your next gathering! Free printables are also included!
One thing I absolutely LOVE doing is decorating and preparing food according to a theme! This year, I’ve been eying all of the pineapples and flamingos (they’re hard to miss!) and thought it might be fun to host a tropical-themed party. These days, my head has been exploding with so many ideas!
This tropical theme would work especially great for any bridal, baby shower, summer gathering or even a birthday party!
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing some of my free tropical printables. They not only work for everyday decor, but are especially fun to put to use when entertaining.
As I mentioned in my ‘Summer Vibes’ printable post, I love using pretty printables for decor since it’s such a budget-friendly option and can really spruce up the table!
For the purpose of this party, I’ve incorporated this Summer Vibes printable and DIY Tropical Banner to add some bright summery vibes to the table.
And rather than going out and buying a bunch of expensive favour boxes, I decided to make my own tropical-themed party bags.
You can find the full DIY breakdown for the bags over in this post.
Just add some other tropical accessories like a cactus and pineapple to the mix, and you’ve got the perfect little tropical set-up.
Now you can’t have a party without tasty food, so I’ve put together a list of healthier food options that go along with the whole tropical theme. I decided to go with a healthier theme because I find that SO many people are becoming more health-conscious and crave more nutritious offerings at social gatherings.
I’ve seen my fair share of clients over the years and when it comes to set backs in achieving their healthy lifestyle goals, there are obviously many factors involved, but a large obstacle tends to be social gatherings.
Time and time again, I always hear, “I wish there were healthier options.” And it makes sense!
Often at this time of year, we’re attending so many parties, BBQs, going on vacation and celebrating holidays, it’s easy to lose track of our goals. But by providing some healthier options, you’ll be doing everyone a favour!
For this particular party, I decided to whip up some of these Pina Colada Energy Bites. They’re great because they taste like you’re indulging, but there’s actually no added sugar in these little bites!
Plus, how cute are those little pineapple toothpick toppers?
You can actually download those here!
Serve them up on a fancy cake tray and you’re golden!
And while we’re on the theme of cute food and printables, why not incorporate some of these Pink Printable Flamingo Straw Decorations!
Aren’t they fun?!
Another idea would be to serve up some of these rainbow fruit kabobs.
Such a great way to add some pretty colour to the table and encourage guests to eat the rainbow!
Just add some raspberries, chunks of orange, pineapple, kiwi and blueberries (or insert fruit of choice) and it makes for such a colourful and refreshing appetizer.
And check out those heart skewers!
Such a fun way to serve up fruit! I bought those a few years ago and it appears that they’re no longer available, but these ones are would do the job too!
Or another fun idea is to skewer some chicken sausage and pineapple chunks onto little tropical umbrellas.
Doesn’t it almost remind you of little people sitting underneath umbrellas on the beach?
Appetizers don’t get much easier than that!
These are just a few suggestions of course, but I’ve also included some other healthier options below that fit the tropical theme!
