By: Elysia
Servings 4 to 6 servings
These oven baked wings are easy to make and oven baked rather than fried for a healthier wing. Smothered in a delicious buffalo sauce.

Cook Time 1 hour 30 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 50 minutes

Ingredients

CHICKEN WINGS

  • 3 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon aluminium-free baking powder NOT baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of freshly ground pepper

BUFFALO SAUCE:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

  • Adjust one oven rack to the lowest position of the oven and and place another rack on the upper level of the oven. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
  • In a large ziploc bag or shallow bowl, toss together the chicken wings along with the baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper until they're well coated in the mixture.
  • Spray a rack with cooking spray and place it on a baking sheet covered in foil. Place the chicken wings evenly across the wrack, leaving a bit of space in between.
  • Bake in oven for 30 minutes. Increase the heat of the oven to 425 degrees F and move the tray with the chicken wings to the upper oven rack. Cook for an additional 40-50 minutes, rotating the tray halfway through the cooking time.
  • Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, mix together the hot sauce, butter and honey. Heat until warmed through.
  • Place the wings in a large bowl, and toss with desired amount of buffalo sauce.*

Notes

**If you plan to reheat some of the chicken wings later, you may wish to leave off the buffalo sauce on these wings so that they don't get soggy. See instructions for reheating in above post.
