Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe avocados halved, pitted and peeled
  • Juice of one lime (about 2 tablespoons of lime juice)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion (about a quarter of a small red onion)
  • 1-2 tbsp finely diced jalapeno pepper (seeded)
  • 1/4 cup cilantro finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Place the avocado and lime juice in a large bowl. Mash with a potato masher or fork until mostly smooth.
  • Next, fold in the red onion, jalapeno pepper, cilantro, garlic and salt and mix until combined. Taste and adjust flavours accordingly.
  • Serve immediately or store in the fridge for later use.

Notes

  • Use avocados that are ripe but not brown for the freshest and most vibrant guacamole.
  • For best results, allow the guacamole to sit for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavours to come together.
  • Adjust flavours according to personal taste, adding more lime juice if you prefer more zesty flavour, more jalapeno peppers if you like more heat and more garlic if you prefer your guacamole to be more garlicky.
