Homemade Healthy BBQ Sauce Recipe {without Ketchup}

Ditch the overly-processed store-bought sauces and make your own! This healthy BBQ sauce recipe is super simple to make, loaded with flavor, and lower in sugar.

Ingredients:

– Tomato sauce – Maple syrup – Worcestershire sauce – Molasses – Apple cider vinegar

Add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.

Pour the blended mixture into a pot and set it over medium heat.

Once it starts to simmer, reduce the heat to low and let it gently simmer for 10–15 minutes, whisking every few minutes so the spices cook through and everything warms up nicely.

Remove from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes—it’ll thicken up a bit as it cools.

This BBQ sauce is tasty right away, but the flavors really deepen and come together after chilling overnight.
