This Watermelon Cucumber Spritzer is a refreshing and healthy way to meet your daily fluid requirements. It’s lower in sugar than your typical sweetened beverage, but super satisfying. It’s definitely a drink you’ll want to keep on hand for those hot summer days! {Gluten-free, paleo & vegetarian}
I’ll admit that lately I haven’t been the best at meeting my daily fluid requirements.
During pregnancy, I drank water like a champ, but ever since our little guy was born, my water drinking hasn’t been where it should be. I think it’s because I’m constantly running after him and don’t often think about quenching my own thirst.
Mom problems. Seriously.
One thing that my husband and I have been doing over the last year or so is mixing sparkly water with regular water. There’s something about sparkly water that makes plain old water taste SO much more refreshing.
The issue we encountered, however, is that we were going through a ton of sparkly water each week. Knowing our dilemma, my parents decided to buy us a Soda Stream for Christmas.
Best practical gift EVER.
Not only is it super convenient because you don’t have to lug around bottles of sparkling water every where, it’s also cheaper in the long run to and better for the environment to have your own soda water maker in your house.
It’s also pretty cool because you can whip up fancy drinks whenever your heart desires.
Win win!
The other day it was super hot and I was craving a refreshing beverage.
I decided to put our soda stream to good use to create this Watermelon Cucumber Spritzer.
Seriously guys.
It tasted like a day at the spa.
There’s just something about that watermelon cucumber combo that is so cleansing and refreshing.

How long does this watermelon cucumber spritzer stay fresh?
As most drinks do, this watermelon cucumber spritzer tastes best when freshly made.
I would recommend serving this spritzer within 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
If possible, try to drink it the same day that you prepare it.
It just doesn’t have that same refreshing taste when it’s a day old.
If you know what I mean…
How to serve for best results
I tried this beverage several different ways and it tasted best using the following method.
Combine the watermelon and cucumber in a blender and purée.
Pour the mixture into a seive over a pitcher.
Mix in the honey and lime juice.
Place ice cubes in each glass and pour in about a quarter cup of the watermelon cucumber mixture into each cup.
Top with desired amount of soda water.
And just a tip…
Keep this beverage cold and sparkly!
I don’t know if you’ve ever tried warm watermelon and cucumber on its own, but it just isn’t all that appetizing, and it’s even LESS appetizing in a drink.
That’s why for best results, you’ll want to top up this drink with ice especially if drinking it outside on a hot day.
Similarly, it doesn’t taste that fabulous when it goes flat, so continue to add soda water when the bubbly disappears.
Keep these tips in mind for the ultra refreshing drink!
