This roasted garlic spread is a healthy way to spruce up any dish, without all the additives found in your typical condiments. Serve it on a sandwich, wrap, burger or with vegetables for an extra dose of creaminess and flavour! {Gluten-free & paleo}
When it comes to flavouring up foods, I’m all about the sauces and spreads.
That’s basically my secret sauce for revving up the taste of all my healthy meals.
The trouble is, SO many of the store bought condiments tend to be packed with excess sodium, sugar and other additives, half of which you can’t even pronounce.
That’s why I love experimenting with my own sauces and spreads at home. You can pack so much flavour in them and they’re so much healthier than the processed ones you find on the shelves.
We always have some type of dressing, sauce or spread sitting in our fridge begging to be poured on our next recipe experiment.
And believe me, it doesn’t take long for it to disappear.
Lately, my husband and I have been making a batch of this roasted garlic spread every few weeks.
It’s SO good, SO flavourful, and SO versatile.
We originally served it with this chicken schwarma recipe that we made, but it made quite a big batch.

It was actually a good problem to have because we soon discovered that it also happened to taste awesome with sandwiches, wraps, burgers, sliders, and even with fresh vegetables or pita chips!
Yup. We tried it all.
In terms of the texture, you’ll notice that it’s quite smooth and fluffy due to the addition of the egg whites. It’s almost like a cross between a mayo and Tzatziki, except it’s made with roasted garlic.
And I just gotta say, roasting the garlic takes it to a whole other level.
Sometimes I want to roast garlic just to smell it in the oven.
YUM!
If you’d like it to have a thinner consistency, simply add a bit more water. This will make it more pourable, rather than spreadable.
Either way, it’s delicious.
This recipe makes about 16 servings and will keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks….so you can basically eat it with EVERYTHING.
Just TRY and pace yourself, my friends ;)
