Healthy Easter Snacks for Kids
With Easter right around the corner, many of us are probably searching for fun Easter recipes to serve the kids. It’s a bonus if those snacks are actually healthy and not loaded with processed ingredients and added sugar!
That’s where these healthier Easter-themed low-sugar snacks come into play. Many of them contain nutrient-packed fruits and veggies and are lower-sugar options. They’re also easy enough that the kids can help make them, too!
Why You’ll Love These Cute Easter Snacks
- Lower in sugar: Since most kids are already consuming way too much sugar every day, I like to offer healthy Easter treats that are naturally sweetened whenever possible. It’s generally recommended that children between the ages of two and 18 consume fewer than six teaspoons of added sugar per day. Sugar is fine in moderation, but we typically like to consume the lower-sugar snacks 80% of the time and enjoy the sugary snacks just 20% of the time!
- Healthier alternatives: Not only are these healthy snacks for Easter lower in sugar, but I also try to add as much fresh fruit, protein, and fiber as possible! Serving sugar with protein and fiber can help reduce the glycemic impact. This sets your kids up for a more consistent mood and energy level without that drastic blood sugar crash!
- Lots of bright colors & flavors: These healthy Easter recipes feature a lot of fresh fruits and bright colors! I’m a big fan of fresh fruit platters and turning fruits into creative shapes and designs (like these chocolate strawberry hearts or heart-shaped fruit skewers). Most kids are drawn in by the colors and love the sweet flavors. This is an easy way to get your kids to eat a little better on the holidays without feeling like they’re missing out on anything!
30 Healthy Easter Snack Ideas Kids Will Love!
1. Lemon Coconut Energy Balls
These lemon-infused energy bites are seriously tasty! What’s even more amazing is that there is no added sugar because they’re naturally sweetened with dates (but you can’t even taste them). Using dates is one of my secrets for sweetening up treats without dumping in a bunch of added sugar.
And the lemon juice and zest inject so much flavor the kids won’t even miss the candy. The perfect no-bake Easter treat!
2. Bunny Mix
Another super cute idea is to make a homemade Bunny mix. For a sweeter version, make some air-popped popcorn and mix it with some Annie’s Honey Graham Bunnies and a lower-sugar cereal like Barbara’s Puffins (I like the cinnamon flavor).
For a savory version, try mixing Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies with air-popped popcorn, nuts, or seeds and roasted chickpeas. It makes a super fun, cute, and crunchy Easter snack!
3. Mini Egg Cups
I love these mini egg cups because they’re a great source of protein and so delicious. Plus, they’re made with only five simple ingredients!
Whip up a batch and store them in the freezer to pop into the kids’ lunches for a quick little bite to eat! They’re great for Easter brunch, too!
4. Fruit Flower Crackers
Another idea that I love are these fruit flower crackers. How fun are these?! Nothing says Spring like a flower on a cracker!
All you need to do is take some round whole grain or higher-fibre crackers (like Breton) and spread a little cream cheese or Laughing Cow cheese thinly across them.
Next, place a raspberry in the middle and place halved grapes around the raspberry to form a flower! So simple and extremely cute and tasty.
5. Carrot Cake Energy Balls
Once again, we’re coming back to the energy bites because they’re basically the solution for anyone with a sweet tooth.
These no-bake carrot cake energy balls are so fun for Easter and are also a great way to get some extra veggies in there too! With the sweet pop of flavor from the dates and spices, the kids won’t even notice the carrots. You can even pop them into your kids’ Easter basket!
6. Carrot Garden
How fun is this carrot garden?! All you need is some hummus (try this high protein hummus), small terra cotta pots, baby carrots or carrot sticks and parsley or cilantro!
Just before serving, poke a hole in the top of each baby carrot with a toothpick and insert a sprig of cilantro or parsley into each hole. Simply “plant” a couple of baby carrots in each pot, and enjoy!
This is not only a fiber and nutrient-filled snack, it can also be a fun little activity for you and the kids and can be a great way to encourage little ones to try some veggies!
7. Snack Tray
This Easter snack tray is a fun way to encourage children to try foods of lots of different colors, flavors and textures.
Fill up this cute silicone Easter egg shaped tray (or an ordinary ice cube tray) with a variety of foods cut up into bite-sized pieces. You could also place plastic eggs into an egg carton and fill them up with a variety of finger foods!
Some ideas to try include:
- Diced mango
- Fresh strawberries
- Cucumber
- Peppers
- Edamame
- Roasted chickpeas
- Diced hard-boiled egg
- Shredded or diced chicken
- Cheerios
- Crackers
- Cheese cubes
- Dried fruit
8. Hard-Boiled Egg Chicks
Another cute snack for an Easter party or brunch are these Hard-boiled Egg Chicks. Simply make up a batch of hard-boiled eggs and transform them into these cute edible chicks that are great for the whole family to enjoy.
Use chia seeds or peppercorns for the eyes and carrot wedges for the nose!
The filling protein will satisfy the kids’ tummies so they won’t be ravenous a few minutes later.
9. Parmesan Rosemary Popcorn
Although lemon, parmesan and rosemary may sound like a weird combination, it is seriously SO good! The lemon zest and parmesan cheese inject so much flavor into the popcorn.
I love popcorn as a snack because it’s packed full of fiber and antioxidants! You definitely can’t go wrong with this crunchy snack.
NOTE: This easy snack is best suited for children over the age of four, as popcorn can be a choking hazard for babies and toddlers.
10. Rainbow Fruit Tray
How much fun is this Rainbow Fruit Tray? I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t love eating the rainbow, and if you serve it up on an oval-shaped tray, it resembles an Easter egg!
I highly recommend serving it with this orange-infused yogurt fruit dip to add some extra protein and goodness to this colorful snack or appetizer.
11. Easter Bunny Board
This Easter-themed snack board is absolutely perfect for your Easter celebration! It has lots of fruits and veggies to tide everyone over and the little bunny detail is way too cute!
12. Shredded Wheat Easter Nests

Crack your eggs into a heart-shaped silicone mold for a protein-packed breakfast option. For a Spring theme, you could even use a flower-shape silicone mold!
16. Healthy Carrot Pineapple Muffins
These healthier carrot cake muffins use a gluten-free base to make them grain-free, and they’re naturally sweetened with maple syrup and pineapple. They taste like dessert, but are healthy enough to serve for breakfast!
17. Fruit Flowers
Similar to the flower crackers above, you can also make a variety of fruit flowers with stems and leaves to look just like the real thing. This is a create edible Easter craft and the kids will love creating their own unique flowers on their plate!
18. Lemon Almond Flour Cookies
Aren’t these flower-shaped cookies so cute? They have a bright, sunny flavor from the lemon and look perfect as part of any Spring dessert table.
19. Rainbow Fruit Board
What better way to celebrate spring than to remember the rainbows that appear after all the rain showers? The fresh fruit slices are arranged in an arc like a rainbow, with a cloud of creamy yogurt on either side.
20. Cadbury Egg Protein Bites
These protein bites are made with peanut butter, oats, coconut, dark chocolate chips, and more for a nutty, indulgent treat. The chocolate eggs are the perfect touch!
21. Hard-boiled Egg Chicks and Bunnies
Who knew you could make a hard-boiled egg so incredibly cute? You just need some eggs, carrots, and a little rosemary for a super easy Easter treat that’s loaded with protein!
22. Egg Frittata Muffins
If you’re hosting a brunch on Easter Sunday, these frittata muffins are a healthier alternative to the standard quiche or frittata. They’re loaded with eggs, cheese, zucchini and spinach, which provides lots of protein and fiber to start the day off right.
23. Easter Fruit Tray
Can you imagine the look on your family’s faces when you serve a giant fruit Easter bunny for breakfast? It’s seriously cute and full of healthy fruit!
24. Gluten-free Carrot Cake Sugar Cookies
These gluten-free cookies are the perfect healthy Easter dessert. They’re absolutely adorable with their cute carrot shape, yet they’re gluten-free, which is perfect if any of your family or friends have gluten intolerances. Too cute!
25. Cream Cheese Filled Carrot Muffins
These carrot muffins are a fun twist on a classic, as they’re stuffed with cream cheese! It’s like having the frosting on the inside. So good!
26. 3-Ingredient Banana Brownies
These naturally sweetened brownies are such an easy recipe. You only need a banana, peanut butter, and cocoa powder for a fudgy, decadent and healthy treat perfect for serving after Easter dinner.
27. Healthy Mini Chocolate Chip Muffins
If your kids love those Little Bites muffins from the store, these are a great swap! They’re made with whole wheat flour for extra fiber and are naturally sweetened with applesauce and maple syrup. No one will even know!
28. Mini Chocolate Cupcakes with Date-Sweetened Frosting
I love making desserts that look totally normal but are secretly healthier! These chocolate cupcakes are so moist and tender, but they’re made with coconut sugar and whole wheat for extra fiber and a lower glycemic impact. The naturally sweetened chocolate frosting is made with dates and cream cheese – no powdered sugar at all!
29. Mini Egg Bites
These cute mini egg bites are perfectly pop-able and great for little hands! They’d be perfect served on Easter morning or as an Easter appetizer!
30. Natural Marble Easter Eggs
